This week's British values is about Mutual Respect and Tolerance.
Reading and sharing lots of different story books helps us to learn from lots of different

Look at the resources and choose an activity from the suggestions.

Activities for this week (week beginning 28th September):

Literacy:

We would like your child make a sandwich at home with an adult. After they have made their sandwich, we would like them to use the following sentence stems to give some oral instructions for how they did it:

First …          Next…          Last …

Please record a video of your child giving their instructions and add this to Tapestry for some dojo points. You may also like to add a photograph of your child making their sandwich.

Dough disco:

To help us strengthen our muscles for writing, we regularly do an activity in school called ‘Dough Disco’. This is easy to do at home. If you do not have any play dough, you can make this at home using the following recipe:

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/playdough-recipe

The following dough disco links can be used with the children:

Maths:

We have been reading the story of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ in school and linking lots of our activities to the story. Can you cut out the bears and order them by size?

Creative:

Using any junk modelling materials you have at home (e.g cereal boxes, toilet roll tubes or any other items that you recycle) can you make a new chair for baby bear? Remember to upload pictures to Tapestry for Dojo points.

Fiddly fingers:

This activity is useful for helping children to develop their fine motor skills.

Use a piece of string or a pipe cleaner and some pasta to do some threading. Can children count how many pieces of pasta they have used? If you have paints at home, children may wish to paint their pasta shapes first.

Counting songs and rhymes:

Please visit the BBC Nursery Rhyme page and choose a different counting rhyme each day to sing.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/nursery-rhymes-counting-songs/zn67kmn

Bug Club:

Last week all children were sent a letter with their Bug Club login details. Books have been set for all children to read. If you have any difficulty logging on, please contact us via Class Dojo or Tapestry.
